Google’s head of search spam Matt Cutts have released a new video which is the reply of the question “”Can nofollow links hurt my site’s ranking?

And the questioned is mentioned below

I’m building links, not for SEO but to try and generate direct traffic, if these links are no-follow am I safe from getting any Google penalties? Asked another way, can no-follow links hurt my site? Tubby Timmy, UK.

Typically Nofollow links cannot hurt your site, so upfront a very quickly answer on that point, cuts said if you leaving comments on every blog in the world right even the those links may be nofollow. If you are doing so much people know you or spamming at a huge scale, Cutts also said Google take manual action on your links being nofollowed.

For Example – When any article update on any website is visited by several users which leave several comments, they think website traffic has increased by doing keyword in hyperlinked but nothing happened like this.
