Google Updates Local Search Algorithm (Pigeon)

Google launched last week a new algorithm to address more specific and relevant local searches. Little information has yet filtered through this new system which is still running in the United States …

The new algorithm has not been officially announced by Google and was born without a name, being named “Pigeon Update by the website Search Engine Land, a sort of unofficial spokesman for Google in relation to news and information about SEO and Marketing search in general.

The Pigeon Update aims to improve local searches, making them more relevant and accurate, and are much closer to the traditional organic search ranking factors, both being visible in Google Maps results as in the natural results.

July 9th, 2014 Facebook Goes Down

Social networking site Facebook was down for sometime, on Wednesday. The website and smartphone apps was not running. I post something on Facebook’s Timeline Error message was visible in red in English.

In many parts of the world had faced this problem, it is still not clear. On June 19 the whole 40 minutes before Facebook was stalled and then were unable to do so, users login. The May 9 Facebook users also had to face a similar problem. That being said this is the fourth time in 6 months, Facebook has suffered technical problems.

Damage: Caused by Facebook Fan Page

Interestingly, in India, 10 million people use Facebook. Besides business depends on it. Many small world – on their Facebook page are made by large companies through which they can promote their brand and products. Well these days on their Facebook page for all the brands Likes last month has suddenly fall, badly. Facebook said on this issue in his own system, which it is trying to remove as soon as possible.
