Google is Dropping Sidebar Ads in Their Search Results

Google is removing all Right Hand Side Ads on SERPs worldwide

When we searched Google ads usually found at the top on the bottom, in the sidebar, but this last section seems to be free again.

The report in the SEM Post, and have confirmed from Google: the change will affect everyone, in all languages, and has already begun to be implemented.

Google says the change is global

Google is switching up its ads

At the top now 4 advertisements will appear, and the side will now focus on showing Google products and services, not related to your Adwords project.

Since Google report that they have been testing this system for some time among a specific audience, and from day 22 of this month more people will expand further, but do not indicate whether it is something permanent or not (although we know that permanent, there is nothing in the web world).

The side section has been dedicated in a while to show information cards of various types in a while, and apparently bet Google will continue down that road. Profit surely outweighed by the top four ads (until last year were three), so not overly affect the profit of the company. Who did you notice are the advertisers, who now have fewer regions to make their auctions AdWords.

What will happen now that ‪Google‬ has removed right rail ads?

Many advertisers are wondering what this means for ‪Paid Search‬ and what they should do about it. Aaron Levy shares his predictions and advice here (Google Removed Right Rail Ads Now What)

Summary:

Google is removing the ads from the right side and will only display ads at the top of the page. This means that QS will weight more in the adRank and also the CPC will increase. because the competition on the top-of-page ads will increase. We will see a decrease in impressions, especially on the long tail search keywords.

[Pigeon] The New Algorithm of Google Local Search

Google Updates Local Search Algorithm (Pigeon)

Barry Schwartz is the News Editor Search Engine Land, Read News About Search Marketing & Search Engines. This post originally appeared on Search Engine Land.

Google launched last week a new algorithm to address more specific and relevant local searches. Little information has yet filtered through this new system which is still running in the United States …

The new algorithm has not been officially announced by Google and was born without a name, being named “Pigeon Update by the website Search Engine Land, a sort of unofficial spokesman for Google in relation to news and information about SEO and Marketing search in general.

The Pigeon Update aims to improve local searches, making them more relevant and accurate, and are much closer to the traditional organic search ranking factors, both being visible in Google Maps results as in the natural results.

Google Introduces New ‘Hummingbird’ Search Algorithm On Its 15th Anniversary

!!Google “Hummingbird ” Is On The Attack!!

Google Hummingbird

Menlo Park, California: Google Senior VP Amit Singhal introduce the new algorithm, called Hummingbird, at an event to celebrate the search engine’s 15th birthday.

Hummingbird represents one of the most impressive changes to Google’s search engine since it improved exactly how it indexes websites 3 years before during a revamp identified as “Caffeine” according to Google Senior VP Amit Singhal for the company. He estimates that the revamp will impact the analysis of about 90 percent of global searches via Google.

As TechCrunch Explained:

The main focus, and something that went repeated many a time, was that the new algorithm allows Google to more quickly parse full questions (as opposed to parsing searches word-by-word), and to identify and rank answers to those questions from the content they’ve indexed.

If you are searching for getting all of the information on the Hummingbird Update then head straight on over to Danny Sullivan’s Hummingbird FAQ at Search Engine Land.

Does this mean SEO is Dead? As Search Engine Land Explained:

No, SEO is not yet again dead. In fact, Google’s saying there’s nothing new or different SEOs or publishers need to worry about. Guidance remains the same, it says: have original, high-quality content. Signals that have been important in the past remain important; Hummingbird just allows Google to process them in new and hopefully better ways.
